All Children's Cleans Up at Statewide Awards

"Scrub A Dub Dub," the hip-hop hand-washing video produced by All Children's Creative Services staff, was among several communications efforts that garnered top honors at a statewide conference in St. Augustine Wednesday night.

The Mark of Excellence is awarded by the Florida Society for Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing for communications efforts that demonstrate excellence in planning, creativity, execution and results. Entries in more than a dozen categories are judged by Public Relations and Marketing professionals from another state chapter of the organization. This year, 77 Florida entries were judged by the Kentucky chapter. They named recipients in each category, along with a "Best of Show" for each category. Then, the best of the "Best of Show" winners receives the highest honor, the annual President's Award.

All Children's claimed four "Best of Show" honors as well as the President's Award:

  • Comprehensive Communications under $25,000 Best of Show - Scrub A Dub Dub
  • Creative Arts Best of Show - Scrub A Dub Dub
  • External Communications Best of Show - "Yum, Yum! Let's Make Some!" cookbook for All Children's Fit4Allkids Weight Management and Fitness Program for Families
  • Internal Communications Best of Show - "My Life, My Illness" palliative care video produced in conjunction with All Children's Child Life Department
  • President's Award - Scrub A Dub Dub

Congratulations and thanks to the many individuals who contributed their expertise and creativity to these worthy projects, including (but not limited to) Mike Sexton, Ann Miller and Bill Greene of All Children's Hospital Creative Services; JoEllen Harris, RN and Carolyn Perry, RN of the All Children's Hospital Infection Prevention Department; Kristin Maier and the All Children's Hospital Child Life Department; Kellie Gilmore and the Fit4Allkids experts; and all of the young chefs who submitted recipes for the cookbook. Thanks also to our patients who graciously participate in telling our story and All Children's Hospital Physicians and Staff throughout the hospital.
