Lynn Buscaino is the June 2011 DAISY Award Recipient

Congratulations to Lynn Buscaino, RN who is the June 2011 Daisy Award Recipient. Lynn works in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The DAISY Award is presented monthly to an All Children's Hospital Nurse that has provided extraordinary service to our patients.

A parent recently wrote:

My child has been in the NICU for approximately 120 days. Our primary nurse is Lynn Buscaino. She has been there for us since day one, teaching us, advocating for us and supporting us throughout the NICU emotional "roller coaster" process.  She has taught us the skills to utilize in the hospital for my baby's development and has also been a supportive factor in helping us to understand the medical challenges my preemie has faced and will continue to encounter.  She has consistently stayed with our family "through thick and thin" and has been an instrumental figure by continuing to emphasize the importance of my input and voice in my child's well-being.

More importantly, she has never minimized my concerns and has always been optimistic, even when my child's outlook was very uncertain. Her dedication and optimism alone has helped me and my family through one of the most difficult times in our lives. I want to show my appreciation and gratitude by nominating her for the Daisy Award for her ongoing excellence and dedication to the field of neonatology and infant development.  Thank you Lynn!!

"Lynn was recruited to the NICU in October 2004 and has become a tremendous asset to the NICU staff," said Cindy Driscoll, RN, BSN, director of the NICU. "In addition to providing outstanding bedside care, her love of neonates is exemplified as she strives to provide the best outcomes for our patients and their families by providing family-centered care. Lynn has helped in bringing this initiative to fruition in our NICU."

Thank you Lynn, for your service excellence to All Children's Hospital and your continued passion to pursue perfection.
