2011 All Children's Hospital Telethon Viewing Guide

The 28th Annual All Children's Hospital Telethon is coming Sunday June 12th on WFLA News Channel 8.  Unlike previous Telethons, all this year's action takes place over the course of one (long) day, from 7 AM until 6:30 PM. Just in case you're not planning to camp out in front of your TV for the duration, here's a quick rundown of who'll be featured (and when) throughout Telethon Sunday and links to the individual videos, in case you want to watch them right now! Please be aware that the times listed here for these segments is valid only for the WFLA News Channel 8 live broadcast of the All Children's Hospital Telethon. The times for viewers in Ft. Myers will be different.

  • CAMERON (watch now)
He's only five years old, but this graduate of multiple therapies at All Children's Specialty Care of Sarasota is the latest patient to become a Grand Donor, thanks to a nifty video his family made for a Primrose Schools contest. (Airs live at 8:45 AM, 10:40 AM, and 4:00 PM)
  • ETHAN (watch now)
This 8-year old from Winter Haven is making up for lost time, chatting up a storm now that a brain mass that silenced him and caused seizures has been surgically removed. (Airs live at 10:05 AM, 1:10 PM, and 4:49 PM)
  • GLENN (watch now)
A toddler from Ft. Myers, Glenn spent his first two months in All Children's going through two surgeries for a serious heart defect. Now, he gets care closer to home at All Children's' Specialty Care of Ft. Myers. (Airs live at 7:45 AM)
  • JOY (watch now)
She got a slow start, but now that this four-year old has some special boots and special friends at All Children's Specialty Care of Ft. Myers, Joy is making great strides. (Ft. Myers Telethon ONLY)
  • JUSTIN (watch now)
You'd never suspect this eight-year old from Pompano Beach was ever sick - much less in need of a bone marrow transplant - unless you knew about a deadly disorder in the family tree. (Airs live at 9:20 AM, 3:04 PM, and 5:56 PM)
  • KINCADE (watch now)
On Telethon 2008, he gave New Channel 8 reporter & Telethon host Jennifer Leigh an entertaining introduction to the therapy vests commonly used by patients with cystic fibrosis. Now, he's helping All Children's physicians and staff understand how best to handle difficult conversations with patients. (Airs live at 9:50 AM and 4:21 PM)
  • SAMI (watch now)
Who says only senior citizens get arthritis? This six-year old from Sarasota can tell you how it affects not only her joints but her eyes. (Airs live at 9:35 AM, 11:40 AM, and 5:34 PM)
  • SCRUB A DUB-DUB (watch now)
St. Pete twins Josie and (former patient) Jerry give a hip-hop guide to hand-washing. (Airs live at 8:30 AM, 12:20 PM, 2:05 PM, and 4:41 PM)
  • WILL (watch now)
This four-year old from Brandon will be twice as old by the time he wraps up cancer treatment at All Children's. By being part of a clinical trial, he'll hopefully not only be cured, but will also help other kids facing a leukemia diagnosis in the future. (Airs live at 7:30 AM, 10:55 AM, 2:15 PM, and 6:05 PM)
