A healthier planet means healthier children. The new All Children's Hospital was designed to provide a healthy environment by using less water and energy, and using paints, sealants, flooring, LED lighting, furniture and cleaning products that help keep indoor air clean. Using electronic medical records and many automated information systems reduces All Children's use of paper. Other ongoing green initiatives include recycling shredded documents, cardboard, scrap metal, light bulbs, electronics, printer cartridgers, equipment sensors, batteries and more. Our refillable mug program has reduced styrofoam usage and in the year ahead we'll be exploring other ways to reduce our use of styrofoam and plastic products.
