|Honda Grand Prix Drivers Visit the Kids at All Children's Hospital|
On Thursday, March 24, drivers from the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg visited the kids at All Children's Hospital with autographed hats, calendars, and toys. Justin Wilson, Indycar driver with the #22 Dreyer & Reinbold team, as well as Star Mazda Series' Team Pelfrey drivers Connor de Phillippi and Nick Andries toured ACH and made new fans.
"It was a fantastic visit," Wilson said of the experience. "A lot of great kids, great nurses, and great families. I saw lots of smiles, and that's always good!"
The visit was made possible by Racing for Kids. The Detroit-based organization uses the popularity of motorsports to focus public awareness and funding on the health care needs of children. Racing for Kids has visited more than 20,000 young patients in nearly 400 children's hospitals throughout the world.
The Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is run on a 1.8-mile, 14-turn waterfront circuit that includes a combination of adjacent downtown streets and extends onto runways at Albert Whitted Airport. The event marks the start of the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series season.
