It's time for Clown Alley Clown School! Sponsored by All Children's Hospital, the Clown Alley Program has been a Festival of States tradition in St. Petersburg since 1972.
Classes with be held at the All Children's Education & Conference Center (701 4th Street S. in St. Petersburg) every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. for five consecutive weeks starting February 10.
Children and adults will learn the art of clowning and will be invited to show off their new skills and ride on the All Children's float in the Honda Grand Prix Illuminated Night Parade on March 24 and at the Festival of States Day Parade on May 21.
The clowning classes are conducted by Christine Davison, a graduate of the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Clown School. She will teach participant the elements of character definition, make-up, costuming and performance techniques during the five class series.
Cost for the program is $20 per person, plus $10 for each additional family member. The fee includes a Clown Alley T-shirt for all participants.
