Approximately 27,000 students and their families from 55 schools in Pinellas, Manatee, Pasco and Polk Counties participated in International Walk This Way: Walk 'n Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 6.
Sponsored by the Florida Suncoast Safe Kids Coalition, this annual event focused on pedestrian & wheeled safety. It helped teach students to navigate to and from school safely and promoted exercise, the environment, socialization and stress reduction.
In addition to ACH, sponsors included: FedEx, Pinellas County Council of PTA's, individual school PTA's/PTO's, Safe Kids Colaition Members & Member Agencies, FDOT, SRTS, FDOH, the school boards of Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee & Polk Counties, numerous local, county and state governmental officials.
