National Child Passenger Safety Week is September 19-25
The 2010 Child Passenger Safety Week brings public attention to the importance of properly securing all children in appropriate child safety seats, booster seats or seat belts - every trip, every time. The campaign concludes with "National Seat Check Saturday," when certified child passenger safety technicians will provide advice and hands-on child safety seat inspections nationwide for free.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), nearly 3 out of 4 child safety seats are not used properly, which is a grave risk when traveling. For a child safety seat to do its job right, it has to be:
Appropriate for your child's age and size
Installed properly in your vehicle
Adjusted to fit your child securely
Safe Kids Florida Suncoast led by All Children's Hospital is committed to increasing child passenger safety through community outreach efforts. In honor of National Child Passenger Safety Week, ACH and Safe Kids will host the following events, in addition to CPS community presentations:
