Be Prepared - Register for Special Assistance during Emergency Evacuations

If a hurricane is coming, do you know where to go for safe shelter or how you will get there? Hurricanes can be very scary -- even more so if you aren't sure how you will be able to evacuate without additional assistance. Help for families with special needs is available in the event of a hurricane or natural disaster, but most counties in the Tampa Bay area require that you pre-register through an application process. If your family needs special assistance in the event of an evacuation, use the information below to begin your application process:

Pinellas County	Call Pinellas County Emergency Management to request an application for Special Needs Assistance during an evacuation.	(727) 464-3800
Hillsborough County	Call the Hillsborough County Infoline (Citizen Action Center) to request registration for a Special Needs Shelter.	(813) 272-5900
Manatee County	Manatee County Department of Public Safety provides the application online for you to download, print, fill out, and mail in.
Sarasota County	Contact Sarasota County Emergency Management, People with Special Needs Office or the necessary forms and registration information.	(941) 861-5000
Pasco County	Pasco County Emergency Management provides printable registration forms and information about the application process.
Polk County	Polk County Emergency Management provides printable registration forms and information about the application process.
Hernando County	Hernando County Emergency Management (operated by the Hernando county Sheriff's Department) provides an online Special Needs Evacuation registration form.
