All Children's Hospital Honored for Support of Employees Who Serve in the Florida National Guard and Reserve
The Florida Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, has recognized All Children's Hospital and Pharmacy Director, Kevin Olson with the Patriot Award.
The Patriot Award was created by the ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees.
Olson and All Children's Hospital were nominated by Major John Briggs (Ret.) of the 45th AES United States Air Force Reserve. Briggs is a staff pharmacist at ACH.
As a member of the Air Medical Evacuation Squadron South Command, Briggs served as an Officer in Charge of the operation center to evacuate U.S. Citizens from Haiti. Upon completion of that mission, he helped evacuate Haitians in need of hospitalization. All Children's Hospital treated some of the children evacuated under his operation.
Briggs thanked Olson and ACH for allowing him the flexibility with his work schedule. He also expressed appreciation to his colleagues for their support and willingness to assume additional responsibilities during his absence.
"We appreciate John's willingness to serve our Nation in this capacity," said John Harding, ACH Vice President of Operations, who was also recognized for his leadership and support of ESGR. "I'd also like to thank Kevin Olson and the Pharmacy team for covering John's duties in the Pharmacy during this unscheduled absence, especially since it occurred at a critical time just after the move to the new Hospital. It was a great team effort by all!"
