Jean Bruce, RN is the August, 2010 DAISY Award recipient. She is a Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse and has been an RN for 29 years. She has worked at All Children's since 1991 and is a clinical leader on the Hematology/Oncology/Blood and Marrow Transplant unit. The DAISY Award is presented monthly to an All Children's Hospital Nurse that has provided extraordinary service to our patients.

"Her knowledge, compassion and professionalism are not only commendable but also exemplary! Jean displays a kindness that is bestowed to whomever she comes into contact, whether it is a patient, family member or co-worker. She truly cares about her profession and is willing to help in any situation. She is often asked to go above and beyond her job duties. She does this without hesitation. She is a role model for our unit and we count on her daily. On days that she is not working, you can truly feel her absence. She is not only a great nurse and clinical leader, but also a friend to those who are fortunate to know her."
Jean's Director, Kim Street states, "Her love and passion for the art of nursing is demonstrated daily in the way she provides patient care to her patients and families and how she mentors others. Jean is eager to learn and assist the unit in any capacity. Her peers show high regards for her astute critical thinking skills and value her expertise in the Oncology field."
