Sonja Steinbrueck, RN is the DAISY Award Recipient for February 2010
Sonja Steinbrueck, RN is the February, 2010 DAISY Award recipient. Sonja is a RN in the Neuro-Oncology program. She has been a nurse at All Children's Hospital for 14 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from The University of South Florida.
The DAISY Award is presented monthly to an All Children's Hospital Nurse that has provided extraordinary service to our patients.
A parent of one the patients that was treated by Sonja said: "Sonja has helped to guide us (along with Dr. Stapleton) through this journey we started three years ago. Sonja has given my son comfort through treatments and getting "poked". She has tolerated many phone calls and "one more question" with grace from a concerned mom. She has given all of us peace knowing she would be there for my son at the clinic. Our journey would not be the same without her."
"She is an excellent nurse who cares for each and every one of her patients as if they were her own child," said Sonja's Supervisor, Cindi Seidel, RN, BSN. "Sonja is a wonderful nurse very professional and caring. She has helped to make our Neuro-Oncology program what it is today. She and Dr. Stapleton have built a very successful program. Sonja's compassion for all of her kids is one of the main reasons the program is so successful. Each of her patients is treated as though they are the only patient Sonja is taking care of that day. She is a joy to have on my staff and a credit to All Children's Hospital."
