Tampa Bay Lightning center Vinny Lecavalier visited patients and families in the Vincent Lecavalier Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at All Children's Hospital on Wednesday, February 24. It was his first visit to the new facility since patients moved in last month.
"The last time I was here we were wearing hard hats," said Lecavalier. "Today there are lots of kids. It's nice to see all the smiling faces."
The center occupies half of the seventh floor of the new hospital and includes 28 individual patient rooms. It was named in Lecavalier's honor thanks to his generous $3-million dollar commitment to the construction of this state-of-the-art facility.
