Scott Ludes, RN is the DAISY Award Recipient for November
Scott Ludes, RN, is the November, 2009 DAISY Award recipient. Scott has been a nurse in our Pediatric ICU (PICU) since 1997.
The DAISY Award is presented monthly to an All Children's Hospital Nurse that has provided extraordinary service to our patients.
A father recently returned to our PICU, four years after his son was treated by our staff, to share a memory about Scott Ludes and how he provided support and guidance to him in a very dark and sad time. The patient did well and the dad was full of praise for Scott. He said that he would never forget how Scott helped him to better understand and cope with the situation.
This story is typical of the relationships and support that Scott provides to patients and families everyday. He is not only an expert clinician, but also a caring nurse who can make these human connections while caring for a critically ill child.
He is identified in the PICU as a true leader. He is helpful and approachable and is a great mentor. He is one of the people you would want with you during an emergency. Scott is our greatest resource for CRRT in the PICU.
