Congratulations to Jay Herman, RN who was the DAISY Award recipient for January, 2009.

Jay joined All Children's in July, 2008 and works on 2SW. He is a graduate of the University of Toledo and holds an MS Degree in Nursing.

The DAISY Award is presented monthly to an All Children's Hospital Nurse that has provided extraordinary service to our patients.

The staff member who nominated Jay for this award wrote: "I work with Jay in the BMT unit and I have been approached countless times by families just telling me how much they appreciate Jay's compassionate way of caring for their children. Some mom's refer to him as their other son."

"Jay is so efficient and always has a super pleasant attitude no matter what is going on around him. One parent that does not speak English told our staff how much they love it when Jay is their nurse for the day. 'We do not worry when he is here. He is so gentle and attentive to our daughter, we feel so thankful for him,' the parent said."
