Leisa Baptiste named the DAISY Award winner for February 2008
Congratulations to Leisa Baptiste who is the February 2008 DAISY Award recipient. Leisa is an RN III in the CVICU.
Leisa continually works "above the bar" to meet the needs of patients and families. Recently, in the course of caring for a critically ill infant who was hospitalized in the CVICU for several weeks, Leisa suspected that the baby's mother was experiencing a serious postpartum depression. She was able to discuss this possibility with the mom and help her locate assistance. Both parents were grateful for Leisa's keen insight, her proactive behavior and her willingness to help.
Susan Collins, CVICU Director adds that Leisa's contribution to the CVICU, the Hospital and patient care is exceptional. "I am very happy to have her as part of the team," she notes.
