Dynamic Duo in D.C. to Highlight All Children’s Impact on Families
Starting Wednesday, June 18th, lawmakers in Washington, DC will get first-hand information about the impact of All Children’s care. Patients Miles & Deanna Marinello (along with parents Lyn & Vic) will participate in Family Advocacy Days on Capitol Hill. This annual event is hosted by the National Association for Children’s Hospitals (NACH). NACH brings children’s hospital representatives and patient families to the nation’s capitol to highlight legislative issues that matter to kids health care.
Miles has years of experience with All Children’s, having been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder that sapped his strength. He completed two years of rigorous treatment, including high dose steroids and monthly infusions that would last 12 hours at a time. Deanna was diagnosed with scoliosis, and successfully avoided surgical treatment with the use of a full torso brace. Both are now happy, active teenagers eager to share their story with our representatives in Washington.
