A group of mermaids from Weeki Wachee Springs turned heads at All Children's Hospital this week as they visited patients and families. Instead of swimming though, the mermaids rolled through the halls of All Children's in wheelchairs, greeting patients and leaving them "get well soon" gifts.

It was a special visit for Mermaid Chelsea, a former patient who was transported to All Children's several years ago by helicopter. She spent almost a full week at All Children's Hospital's former location on 6th Street when she was just nine years old and still remembers the outstanding care she received.

"I just remember the game rooms and the nurses being really nice, and the staff was excellent," said Mermaid Chelsea. "Everyone was really nice and I just love this hospital."

Now working full-time at Weeki Wachee, Mermaid Chelsea said she was excited to return to All Children's and spread well-wishes to young patients. "When I found out I was coming this year to All Children's, I was really excited. It's fun just to be able to brighten up a kid's day."
