All Children's Hospital Recognized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services For Efforts to Support Organ Donation and Transplantation

LifeLink of Florida recently recognized All Children's Hospital's efforts in achieving the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Bronze Medal of Honor for organ donation and transplantation. Special recognition was giving to the following patient care areas: CVICU/CVOR, PICU, OR, NICU, and Pastoral Care for their tireless work at the bedsides of potential and actual organ donors and their families. The work that is performed at the bedside is crucial in the success of organ donation and organ transplantation

The All Children's Hospital Donation Advisory Council (DAC) is a multidisciplinary group of representatives from ACH and LifeLink that meets quarterly to review and/or identify organ donation policies, practices, communication paths, and educational opportunities that support organ procurement and donation. With over 120,000 people awaiting organ transplants in the U.S. and almost 2,000 of them children - All Children's Hospital is proud to make a difference and help create a positive impact in the field of organ donation and transplantation.
