When Katie was 34-weeks pregnant, her doctors and high risk specialists at Bayfront Baby Place tried to delay delivery for just a few precious weeks. But her baby had other ideas. "They were wheeling me into delivery," Katie says, "and this baby was knocking on my belly-time to come out!" Named Riley or "strong woman," the 5-pound newborn girl then traveled the same path as her mom had 27 years before her-through the tunnel that connects Bayfront to All Children's Hospital. Both mother and daughter are success stories. They both started at Bayfront Baby Place and spent the first weeks of their respective lives in All Children's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
And while Katie's experience was much different from her daughter Riley's, the next generation has much to look forward to in the new All Children's Hospital and one-of-a-kind partnership with Bayfront Baby Place.
