The Greek Children's Fund at All Children's Hospital |
In 1983, Mr. Stanley Matthews organized the Greek Children's Fund at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York City, to aid needy Greek children and their families who were undergoing treatment. Since its inception, it has helped more than 7,000 families with temporary housing, transportation, medical equipment needs and miscellaneous expenses. In addition, the program expanded to Schneider Children's Hospital on Long Island.
Today, The Greek Children's Fund is partnering with All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg to serve all children and their families served by All Children's Hospital who are in need of non-medical day-to-day assistance. From helping pay rent, providing money for food, purchasing a wheelchair or other equipment or paying for much needed medicines, The Greek Children's Fund offers a ray of hope to families going through difficult times while their child is in the hospital. Through canisters in local restaurants and other businesses, special events and individual philanthropy, The Greek Children's Fund will continue to grow and serve the needs of families for generations to come.
Thank you for your support and for making a difference in the lives of sick children and their families.
"There is only one child in all the world, and that child's name is All Children." Carl Sandburg
