Asthma Family Day
Childhood asthma is a significant health issue affecting our community.
- Children miss more days of school every year due to asthma than any other illness
- Nearly 1 in 10 children in the U.S. have asthma
- Asthma accounts for nearly 14 million lost days of school missed annually
- Asthma is the third-ranking cause of childhood hospitalizations under the age of 15
The purpose of Asthma Family Education day is to improve asthma self-management skills and awareness for children with asthma and their families, to strengthen the partnership between the medical community, families, and schools in working with children who have asthma, and to have fun!
