A pediatric anesthesiologist can be a vital member of your child’s health care team. Pediatric anesthesiologists help your child go to sleep before surgery and help him or her to wake up after surgery. They monitor a child’s airway before, during and after surgery or a procedure. Our pediatric anesthesiologists have years of experience in taking care of children, even the tiniest of infants. In addition to providing anesthesia care and sedation for All Children’s nine operating rooms, Special Procedures Unit and MRI/CT services at the main hospital in St. Petersburg, they also provide anesthesia care for pediatric MRI services at All Children's Outpatient Care, Tampa, our 52,000-square foot outpatient center at 12220 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.
Pain management is another important role of the pediatric anesthesia department at All Children’s. Our pediatric anesthesiologists serve on the Pain Management Team and work with other professionals throughout the hospital to prevent and manage pain.
