PCRC Staff

Administrative Manager

• Sandy Wismer, MS is the main point of contact for investigators wishing to use the PCRC. Mr. Wismer has over 10 years experience in healthcare administration and over eight years of sponsored programs and research administration experience.

Nurse Manager

• Dawn Bruton, RN, BSN, CCRP  is the primary contact person for patient care and research protocol implementation. She has over twenty-nine years experience in pediatric and neonatal nursing, complemented by clinical research nursing experience. Previous to joining the PCRC staff, she was the Senior Research Nurse for the Developmental Hematopoiesis Laboratory at the USF Children’s Research Institute. Her professional affiliations include the Society of Certified Research Associates, the National Association of GCRC Nurse Managers, and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.

Nurse Coordinator

• Jennifer Flanary, RN, BSN assists with nursing care and research protocol implementation. She has over ten years experience in the healthcare field, including hospital and clinic expertise with Hematology/Oncology, and Blood and Marrow Transplant patients, and most recently as the Nurse Manager for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Associates.

Systems Analyst

• Steven Kim, BS will be focusing efforts on the implementation of iMedRIS and other informatics core projects within PCRC. As well as being a recent graduate of the University of South Florida, Mr. Kim has experience in computer programming, project management, data collection and warehousing. It is his experience in application manipulation and programming which will be a vital role in implementing iMedRIS. 

Grants Coordinator

• Janice Wencel, PhD assists the Administrative Manager in facilitating the administrative and financial operations of the PCRC, including coordinating the scientific and administrative review process for submitted protocols, activities of the advisory committees, and the Research Seminar Series.
