The Rothman Center, located on the All Children’s Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine campus in St. Petersburg, was among 10 centers selected for the national award.
(Posted on Sep 16, 2014) St. Petersburg – September 16, 2014 - All Children’s Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine received a $215,980 grant from Kohl’s Department Stores to continue its Kohl’s Cooks for Kids community-based healthy living program for the eighth year. The program encourages families to cook and eat healthy meals together, with the ultimate goal of preventing childhood obesity. Families also learn basic culinary skills and how to prepare healthy recipes on a budget.

Researchers working on the PREDICT (Prospective Research on Early Determinants of Illness and Children’s health Trajectories) study will take advantage of the Johns Hopkins Medicine pediatric biorepository at All Children's Hospital which will store samples of blood and saliva from the healthy infants and young children for long-term studies.

The Children’s Hospital Association conducted the study, “Decreasing Handoff-related Care Failures in Children’s Hospitals”, which was published in the July issue of Pediatrics.

(Posted on Jun 25, 2014) St. Petersburg – June 25, 2014 - The University of South Florida completed a transfer of 1.4 acres of land to All Children’s Hospital Johns Hopkins Medicine, a move that symbolizes the long-term, shared commitment to continuing the training of the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine medical students. The land -- donated by the state to USF in April -- was transferred yesterday by USF as a gift to All Children’s Hospital. The property will be used to develop a research, education and training facility to support innovations in pediatric care and expand the future collaborative efforts of the two organizations.

Myers/Naples area. Money raised through the telethon will directly fund treatment, research, education and advocacy initiatives at All Children’s Hospital.

Jan. 19, 2012 (St. Petersburg, FL) After a leadership tenure of fifteen years, Gary A. Carnes will be retiring as president and CEO of All Children’s Hospital, with an anticipated effective date of February 29, 2012.
“All Children’s Hospital is poised to realize its long-held vision of becoming a national and international leader in pediatric treatment, education and research, thanks in large part to the tireless efforts of Gary Carnes,” says Jack Kirkland, Chairman of the Board of All Children’s Hospital. “He has brought us to a seminal moment in the transformation of All Children’s into a leading academic medical center for pediatrics, and our challenge now is to find a leader to build on our momentum as we move toward this shared goal.”
Jonathan Ellen, M.D., current Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine vice dean for All Children’s Hospital and All Children’s Hospital physician-in-chief, will serve as interim president until a permanent president is named.
