In recognition of All Children's first anniversary at its new location, members of the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Thunderbug paid a visit to the hospital on Jan. 11. The hospital celebrated one year in its new facility on Jan. 9.
Lightning players Vinny Lecavalier, Teddy Purcell, Randy Jones and Nate Thompson signed autographs and posed for pictures with patients and their families. They also brought a birthday cake to mark the special occasion.
Vinny Lecavalier has a very special connection to the new hospital. The Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center was named in his honor because of his generous $3-million dollar donation to the new facility.
