All Children's Employees, Volunteers and former patients and their families gathered at the flagpole in from of the new hospital on Wednesday, November 4 to witness the placement of a Time Capsule.
Representatives from the hospital placed a treasure of memories commemorating the past with a look toward the future.
Among highlights, 17-year-old former heart patient Emily Mooney's boxing glove that she received as an infant from her grandfather, representing not only Emily's fight, but how everyone around her (family, doctors, nurses, RTs, surgeons, therapists, teachers) fought for her, and how we all continue to fight for all children. Emily's mother Mary, inspired by the experience with her daughter, is now a nurse at All Children's, and also attended the event.
Some examples of contents of the capsule include:
Handwritten letter from CEO Gary Carnes to a future CEO
Historical pictures of the hospital
Long-tenured Employee name badges
A roster of all employees, volunteers, trustees, etc, involved with ACH
