Congratulations to Louise Burr for being named the 2013 Employee of the Year. Louise was the July 2013 Employee of the Month. Louise works in Admissions as a Patient Relations Coordinator II and has been with All Children's since 1998.

"It takes teamwork, "said Louise, as she left the event at the St. Petersburg Hilton.  "And you know what? It's all about working with great people at All Children's. And the family relationships, they're everything. God has placed me in that position because he wants to teach me as well as use me, so I love it."

Her reference to teamwork echoed the theme of keynote speaker Dewayne Staats, longtime voice of Tampa Bay Rays telecasts, who likened the teamwork of All Children's to that of the Rays. "Everyone here tonight has contributed to making this organization a success story," he said. "You bet there's talent and great ability here. But teamwork is the catalyst that propels an organization toward excellence."

Louise was recognized most recently for her Service Excellence by nominations from a patient, parent, colleague, and visitor who wrote:

Ms. Louise is extremely personable all the time. She greets every patient and visitor she sees with a huge smile.  When I see Louise she makes me feel welcomed and glad to be a patient at All Children's Hospital. Another parent said, "I often come to ACH with my daughter who is a patient. We always receive a warm and friendly smile from Louise. Even with all the stress of having a sick child Louise makes me feel happy with her nice, warm welcome, friendly smile and genuine kindness. I am very thankful to ACH for having such a wonderful employee. A visitor also noted: Louise was exceptionally helpful to me and several other people I observed.

A colleague wrote:

I see Louise's smiling face every time I enter the OCC (Outpatient Care Center) heading into their hospital. I have witnessed true concern and compassion as she helps families find their way through our many corridors and hallways. She is knowledgeable and kind. As a parent of a child with a chronic illness, we are in the OCC all the time. She has assisted me and my child numerous times with different issues. My child has said several times, 'Let's go see Ms. Louise before we leave.' Even kids know when someone is genuinely kind and friendly.

Louise's Department Director added:

As always, the nominations for Employee of the Month all say the same thing - she is helpful, caring, heartfelt in her actions with everyone she encounters, making the first step in the visit to ACH a wonderful experience.  We are extremely fortunate to have her as our face of Admissions and ACH.

Louise, thank you for all you do for the patients, families, visitors and ACH staff. Congratulations for again receiving the All Children's Hospital Employee of the Year honors.
