Facilities

All Children’s Hospital is a 259-bed regional pediatric referral center providing access to care in virtually all the pediatric medical and surgical subspecialty areas. The facility includes a 97-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a pediatric intensive care unit, a cardiovascular intensive care unit, a cancer and blood disorders center, and a 28-bed emergency center. In FY 2010, ACH handled 9,732 admissions, 41,781 emergency center visits, 9,734 surgeries, and 250,885 hospital outpatient visits. 

Additionally, there is clinical research laboratory space in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, dedicated for sterile environment preparations and culturing including incubation, separate bench areas for immunohistochemistry, microscopy and cytokine array analyses. A separate area is devoted to molecular techniques including PCR, gel electrophoresis and in-situ PCR. A self-contained microscope room houses numerous microscopes shared with the clinical labs. Access to additional specialty lab services with the Department of Pathology is readily available.
