STEPS to a Healthier Florida

General Information

STEPS TO A HEALTHIER FL-PINELLAS COUNTY is a federally funded grant program. The program supports the effort of many community organizations working together to reduce the effect of asthma, obesity, diabetes, and tobacco use. The program encourages healthy lifestyles such as good nutrition, increased physical activity, and non-smoking.

All Children's Hospital is one of the participating community organizations. One of the important services that we are providing is STEPS/Pediatric Asthma Care Coordination. This is a free service for children who reside or go to school in St. Petersburg, Gulfport, Kenneth City, or Pinellas Park. The services available include:

  • Education about asthma and asthma care
  • Home visits to help identify asthma triggers and/or provide asthma education
  • Case management
  • Referral for private, confidential home air quality assessments
  • Community referrals to assist with asthma care
  • Information about community asthma education events

If you are interested in more information about STEPS/Pediatric Asthma Care Coordination or receiving services, please contact us at 727-767-4795 or request a visit.
