The New All Children's Hospital

The Campaign for All Children will ensure the legacy of providing exceptional care to children and families that is a hallmark of All Children's Hospital. Construction work is just beginning on the new Hospital, which is scheduled to open in 2009. The new nine-story hospital and adjoining outpatient care center will feature:

• 240 pediatric beds

• Single patient rooms with space for two parents to stay overnight

• Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with space for 96 infants

• Maternity services and well-baby care provided by Bayfront Medical Center, just one floor away from the All Children's NICU

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

• Sleeping accommodations for parents within the ICUs

• Larger surgery suites (13 in all), with room for intra-operative imaging technology, robotics and future surgical technologies

• Large Pediatric Emergency Center, plus a helipad where the Bayflite chopper - with ACH transport crew aboard - can bring patients to All Children's

• A Patient Schoolroom and Family Resource Library

On May 16th, 2005, community leaders, hospital employees, trustees and patients gathered to add some kid-friendly touches to the fencing that will enclose the construction site for months to come.
