St. Petersburg Healthy Start Federal Project
The Community Service component of the Healthy Start Federal Project provides education on issues that impact infant mortality (infant death) and low birth weight by providing classes, groups, and community events.
The Pinellas County Health Department and All Children's Hospital have been partners with the St. Petersburg Healthy Start Federal Project (HSF) since 1997 providing services to men, women and children with a federal grant received from Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). All Children's Hospital currently provides the Community Service component of the grant through education, advocacy, groups, classes and events.
- To encourage and support individuals in taking ownership of their personal wellness/well-being
- To identify and address key contributing factors that impact family health for future generations
- To engage and mobilize communities to create change that ensures a safer and healthier environment
