  • Identify past and current issues with antibiotic resistant organisms and their impact on patient care.
  • Define antimicrobial stewardship and the goals of hospital-based antimicrobial stewardship programs.
  • Review the impact of antimicrobial stewardship programs on outcomes, resistance rates and economic costs.
