International Walk to School Day is Wednesday, October 3. All Children's Hospital in conjunction with Florida Suncoast Safe Kids and Safe Routes to School is making a difference to reduce the number of child pedestrian deaths and injuries in our community. International Walk to School Day is a fun and effective way to promote health and safety for kids walking to school.
More than 60 schools are registered to participate in a four-county area. Close to home, All Children’s is joining with the Tampa Bay Rays and the City of St. Petersburg at Campbell Park Elementary. A caravan of more than 50 kids will be joined by Mayor Bill Foster and Rays’ mascot Raymond for the walk. Campbell Park Elementary has recently started a Walking School Bus, encouraging parents and children to walk to school each morning.
