Congratulations to Paige Ward, RN who is the April 2012 Daisy Award Recipient. Paige is an RN on 8 South.  The DAISY Award is presented monthly to an All Children's Hospital Nurse who has provided extraordinary service to our patients. Paige was nominated by a parent who wrote:

This is our tenth admission to ACH. We are always impressed and appreciative of the excellent standard of care provided by all the staff. However, Paige Ward was the best nurse who has ever cared for us. 

Paige was extraordinarily kind and compassionate with both my daughter and me. She was friendly, fun and always maintained an upbeat attitude. She kept a very close eye on my daughter's care. She monitored all the meds, her pain level, and worked with the various doctors and techs. She kept herself "in the know" with my daughter's case and each time there was an update, she helped me digest the information and determine a plan for the next step. She was a tremendous help. And, somehow with all her other responsibilities and patients, she made my daughter and me feel special. Thank you Paige!

Paige's department director added:

"Paige joined our All Children's team less than one year ago," said Lisa Moore, RN, MSN, MHA, Director Pediatric Medicine. "As a brand new RN, Paige demonstrated clinical competence, professionalism, and teamwork from the get-go. Paige is kind, compassionate, and is extremely enthusiastic about her role. She consistently has a positive "can-do" attitude and a huge smile. Our team is so lucky to have her. Paige is definitely an asset to the ACH family!"
