Hella Ewing, MSM, BSN, RN Named Chief Nursing Officer.

July 13, 2010 (St. Petersburg, FL) All Children's Hospital has named Hella Ewing, MSM, BSN, RN to the position of Chief Nursing Officer. 

Ewing comes to All Children's after more than a decade at Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola, FL. As Executive Director of the Women and Children's Hospital at Sacred Heart, she was responsible for a 55-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Antepartum and Labor and Delivery Units, and the only neonatal/pediatric transport team in Northwest Florida. In addition, Ewing was responsible for adult and pediatric respiratory services and dialysis services.

As the Alpha Projects Director for Sacred Heart Hospital, Ewing implemented a number of key quality initiatives, including Rapid Response Team, Perinatal Safety, ICU Safety and Prevention of Nosocomial Infections programs. As a result of this work, she has been a national speaker on the prevention of nosocomial infections related to multi-drug resistant organisms.  Previously, Ewing managed adult critical care units and cardiac/pulmonary units at Sacred Heart.

Ewing began her professional career in the United States Air Force as an avionics technician for F-15 fighter aircraft and subsequently chose to pursue a career in nursing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University and a Master of Science in Management, Health Care Concentration, from Troy State University, Troy, AL. She has served on the Board of Healthy Start of Escambia County and as an Executive Board Member of Ronald McDonald Children's Charities of Northwest Florida.
