Melissa Rybolt, RN is the DAISY Award Recipient for October, 2009
Melissa Rybolt, RN, is the October, 2009 DAISY Award recipient. Melissa has been a nurse in our NICU for 23 years.
The DAISY Award is presented monthly to an All Children's Hospital Nurse that has provided extraordinary service to our patients.
The family that nominated Melissa for the DAISY Award said, "Our son came to the NICU with a horrible infection and a growth on his buttocks and spine. Melissa asked to be the primary nurse for our child and they bonded instantly."
"He went through many procedures, and through it all, we came to note Melissa's proactive care. She would check her work as well as others to ensure 100% accuracy for each procedure. She also helped to ensure he always had a nurse to monitor him and helped to verified information with the doctors. Above and beyond, we learned a lot about parenting from Melissa. We always had someone to talk to when all the procedures and questions were overwhelming. It's hard to say that any of the nurses were not amazing, but Melissa was exceptional to our son and us."
