Congratulations to Norma Liburd, RN who is the DAISY Award recipient for March, 2009. Norma is a Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist with the University of South Florida Division of Allergy/Immunology/ Rheumatology.
The DAISY Award is presented monthly to an All Children's Hospital Nurse that has provided extraordinary service to our patients.
Norma has been associated with All Children's since 1993. She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing and holds a Master's Degree in Nursing from Emory University in Altanta, GA.
Among her numerous honors and achievements, Norma was named All Children's Hospital Employee of the Month on three occasions. In 1999 she was named All Children's Employee of the Year.

Norma has spent quite a bit of time with us helping to make sure that we understood everything that we needed to know about our child's diagnosis and medications. She has taught us how to perform injections and about the different medications we use. She worked as a bridge between us, the office, and the pharmacy. She has called me back many times when I have called about current problems or because I forgot to ask a particular question while in the office. She has provided further insight to some of the issues that our child may be going through when our child wasn't forthcoming about even feeling ill. She makes both of my children feel special, not just the ill one. She's given us ideas on programs and provided educational literature on many different things. We always feel that we are welcome to call whenever we need to. Norma has been a pillar of support.
