Greek Children’s Fund to Benefit All Children’s Hospital Patients and Families

(Tarpon Springs) Colorful canisters will be cropping up at a number of north county businesses and restaurants in coming weeks. They'll offer customers a chance to help families whose children have turned to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg for much needed care. And the generosity will be directed to where it's most needed by a fund with a proven track record.

The Greek Children's Fund at All Children's Hospital was launched on February 27 to support patients and their families served by the hospital. The Fund, originally established 26 years ago by Stanley Matthews, also supports non-medical programs at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital and Schneider Children's Hospital in New York.

Stanley Matthews, the founder of the Greek Children's Fund, attended the kickoff along with Congressman Gus Bilirakis, who is serving as the Honorary Chairman of the Fund, Clearwater Vice Mayor, George Cretekos and Gary Carnes, President and CEO of All Children's Hospital.

At the kick-off, a check for $10,000 was presented to All Children's to provide support to patients and their families who are in need of assistance such as: rent, food, medicine and other miscellaneous non-medical supplies.

To learn more about the Greek Children's Fund at All Children's Hospital, please contact Stanley Matthews at 727-725-7742 / 201-767-1142 or Lydia Bailey at All Children's Hospital Foundation, 727-767-4199.
