|All Children's Hospital Joins the March of Dimes in Giving All Babies a Healthy Start|
Each year, more than half a million babies in the U.S. are born prematurely, and approximately 120,000 are born with birth defects. As the presenting sponsor of the Chefs Auction for three years, the hospital's affiliation with the March of Dimes is a natural one. Cindy Driscoll, RN, Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), welcomed the event guests on behalf of All Children's.
In addition to helping the March of Dimes and their researchers continue their mission to find a cure for premature birth, donations made that evening were earmarked to help support the March of Dimes NICU Family Support Program. This critical program responds to the emotional and informational needs of families during the NICU hospitalizations, during the transition home, and in the event of a newborn death.
All Children's Hospital values its ongoing partnership with the March of Dimes and commends their ongoing commitment to providing every infant with the best possible start.
