|All Children’s and Tampa Bay Rays Sign Sponsorship Agreement|
It's a whole new ballgame for the Tampa Bay Rays and All Children's Hospital.
When Opening Day arrived on Tuesday afternoon at Tropicana Field it marked the opening of an era uniting two Tampa Bay institutions with deep community roots and a commitment to excellence.
A sponsorship agreement recently formalized between the Rays and All Children's promises to be a winner on all counts. The new alliance will give All Children's a high profile within the Trop: on signs inside the stadium, in game telecasts beamed around the area, state and country and with radio ads during game broadcasts. And there will be an array of promotions and education involving the hospital that will be announced throughout the course of the season.
The sponsorship is a fitting development in an area so rich with baseball history. And that is why - to showcase our new relationship with the Rays - we offer our own big-league baseball story with a fascinating historical connection to All Children's Hospital.
It's the little-known tale of how legendary New York Yankees slugger Babe Ruth lent a formidable helping hand to a small St. Petersburg hospital - an institution that would one day become All Children's.
Now play ball!
