LABORATORY CERTIFICATION
The HLA Laboratory is certified by the State of Florida (License #800000135) and by the College of American Pathology (License #15309-01) and by CLIA (License #10D0700790). We have participated in quality control tests/surveys administered by the College of American Pathologists and others since 1982.

Specimens are accepted 24 hours per day/ 7 days per week through the Main Clinical Laboratory.
FACILITIES
Located in the Outpatient Care Center, the HLA laboratory is a full service facility and is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments including: ABI 3500XL Genetic Analyzer, Luminex 200; Eppendorf epMotion 5075 robotic liquid handler; EZ1 automated DNA extractor, NorDiag Arrow cell isolation instrument, Nano Drop spectrophotometer, Kodak EDAS 290 photodocumentation system, E-gel electrophoresis system, PCR thermocyclers, etc.
The HLA lab provides services in the following sub-sections: HLA typing for stem cell transplantation; HLA typing for disease association; Lineage-specific cell isolation for STR analysis.
