| ACH Salutes Teen Volunteers |
Over 200 All Children's Hospital Teen Volunteers and Medical Explorers, representing most high schools in Pinellas County, were recognized for their volunteer efforts at a dinner in their honor on Wednesday, May 6. These students have served a grand total of 18,500 hours in a variety of hospital departments and programs. Nicole Haislett-Bacher, winner of three gold medals for swimming in the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain was the guest speaker at the dinner. She gave an inspirational talk and spoke about her road to success. She also brought a few of her gold medals to share with the teens. Special recognition went to 70 teens that are graduating from high school. Many have volunteered at ACH or been a part of our Medical Explorer Program since their freshman year. Next year, they will attend a variety of colleges, including: University of Florida, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, University of South Florida, St. Petersburg College, Florida Gulf Coast University, Vanderbilt University, Woffard College, New College of Florida, Rice University, Rhodes College and St. Leo College.
