A Taste of Pinellas 2012

The Suncoasters of St. Petersburg will present the All Children's Hospital Parade, sponsored by BB&T, on Saturday, May 21. Formerly known as the Festival of States Parade, the updated event begins at 11:30 a.m. on Bayshore Drive at the Mahaffey Theater and will travel north to the entrance of A Taste of Pinellas at Vinoy Park. This year, the parade will be part of A Taste of Pinellas weekend and will feature current and former patients of All Children's Hospital. Raymond, the loveable mascot of the Tampa Bay Rays, will also be on hand to serve as the grand marshal of the parade that will include clowns, krewes, antique cars and more.

Immediately following the parade, kids and families can enjoy the Tampa Bay Rays Family Zone inside A Taste of Pinellas at Vinoy Park. The Family Zone, produced by the Suncoasters, will be open Saturday and Sunday, May 21 - 22 from noon - 5 p.m.

The Tampa Bay Rays Family Fun Zone will feature entertainment on the General Dynamics Kids Stage, including outstanding performances by Shana Banana, Silly Sam the Music Man, Raymond, the Franzini Science Circus, the Cross Bayou Elementary Signing Choir, Tapped In and Men of Note from Busch Gardens.

The Family Fun Zone will also include face painting, arts and crafts, Radio Disney, the Science Center of Pinellas County, the Salvador Dali Museum, the Pier Aquarium, Great Explorations, Ovation School of Arts, the YMCA of St.Petersburg and interactive health and safety activities from All Children's Hospital, including the Fit4Allkids Program.

The Suncoasters of St. Petersburg is a non-profit civic organization of volunteer business leaders who donate their time and money to produce parades and other celebrations during the year to honor the City of St. Petersburg and raise funds to provide scholarships and financial support for youth education in arts and music.
